This coming Monday, May 29, the com- munity will host a number of Memori- al Day ceremonies to honor our fallen servicemen and women and also take the time to give thanks to veterans in attendance.

Bayport
The Bayport Fire Department is hav- ing their annual ceremony at Memorial Park on Monday at 11 a.m. Bob Draffin, president of the Bayport Civic Associa- tion, is once again the MC for this event. Pastor Sejin Cha of the Bayport United Methodist Church will lead in the bless- ing.
The parade will commence a couple of blocks west of the park on Middle Road and Connetquot Avenue. The Bay- port-Blue Point marching band will pro- vide musical entertainment, as will a pipe band.
The Bayport-Blue Point Chamber of Commerce, Community Ambulance, The Bayport-Blue Point Historical Associa- tion, and Bayport Civic Association will all lay wreaths at the memorial.

Bohemia
The Bohemia Fire Department and American Legion Post 1146 will be host- ing its annual Memorial Day Parade and Services on Monday, May 29 at 10 a.m. The parade starts on the corner of Hubal Street and Ocean Avenue, where it
will proceed down to Church Street and onto the John Pearl School for a memo- rial service at the Veterans Memorial (corner of Church Street and Smithtown Avenue). After the completion of the ser- vice and the placing of the community wreaths, the parade will proceed down to the Bohemia Fire Department for anoth- er service, where there will be a special tribute to all the veterans in attendance.

Blue Point
The Blue Point Fire Department parade will start at 9:30 a.m. at Blue Point Avenue and Middle Road.
A memorial service will be held to remember and honor Blue Point resi- dents who “made the supreme sacrifice as members of the armed forces serving
our country in our nation’s war through- out history,” said commissioner Walter Dunn.
Following the service, attendees are invited to join the fire department for refreshments provided on the grounds to the rear of the Blue Point firehouse.
Sayville
Sayville Fire Department is sponsor- ing the parade at 9 a.m. that begins at Handsome Avenue. The marchers, which include Boy Scouts, members of the Lt. Michael Murphy Sea Cadets, members of the American Legion and VFW Posts, Girl Scouts, Sayville Historical Society, and baseball leagues will proceed east on Main Street to Sparrow Park. At the park, a special ceremony and wreath laying will take place.
The members of American Legion Post 651 invite everyone back to the post after the ceremony. The Post is located at 23 Foster Avenue.

West Sayville
At 9 a.m., the West Sayville Fire Department will march with the Sayville Fire Department from Handsome Ave- nue to Lincoln Avenue.
Afterwards, West Sayville will split off and reconvene at their own firehouse to conduct a ceremony honoring veterans, which will take approximately half an hour.
