Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the circumstances of the death of a woman whose body was found in Manorville on Wednesday, Feb 11.
On Feb. 25, the SCPD arrested a Riverhead man for killing his mother, Kathleen Harrison Trent, who was found dead in the wooded area on Connecticut Avenue in Manorville on Feb. 11.
Following an investigation by Homicide Squad detectives, Curtis Trent Jr., 36, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with Murder 2nd Degree. He was arraigned at Riverhead Town Justice Court.
Earlier that month, the Seventh Precinct Patrol units were searching the area, when they discovered the body of an adult female in a wooded area, located on Connecticut Avenue, south of River Road. At that time, the woman’s identity and cause of death was determined during an autopsy by personnel from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.
The body was found in connection with the search for a 63-year-old missing mother, Harrison Trent. The Riverhead woman was reported missing by her son in January. According to an interview with ABC News, she worked at a security guard at the Riverhead Raceway.
According to police, she was last seen at her Forge Road home on Tuesday, Jan. 27, and was reported missing by her son.
As of Feb. 17, Suffolk County police confirmed and identified the of body Harrison Trent of Riverhead. The death is being treated as a criminal investigation, though the cause of death has not yet been released.
