Participants included elementary and middle school groups, athletic teams, the NJROTC, middle school and high school clubs and groups, members of the board of education, the William Floyd Alumni Association, PTO organizations, employee groups, student councils, elected officials and more.
Special thanks to the Mastic, Mastic Beach and Brookhaven fire departments, as well as Mike Verni of the Shady Grove Antique Fire Department for providing the use of his classic vehicles to chauffeur around the homecoming court.
After the parade, the homecoming crowning was held on the football field before the game, which saw the William Floyd Colonials defeat Sachem North 42-10 before an energetic crowd of supporters.
The Colonials controlled the game from the opening kickoff, led by a dominant offense and a stout defense. They victory improves their record to 5-1 on the season and the Colonials are starting to hit their stride with the playoffs approaching
