More than 20 participants came down to compete in the village’s 37th annual Snapper Derby, but only four winners were chosen across three categories. Pictured are the winners and Patchogue Village officials.

Young anglers took to Mascot Dock this past Saturday for the 37th annual Snapper Derby, hosted by the Village of Patchogue and sponsored by J&J Bait and Tackle. Winners from three categories were given trophies and a fishing-pole prize. The “biggest fish” winner was Patrick Halpin, who caught a fish at 10.5 inches. In the “most fish caught” category, Jamie Schreiber and Evelyn Formickella took the prize. The winner of the “first fish caught” prize was Camden Pontieri.
