On Monday, Nov. 11, the Sayville VFW Post 433 and American Legion Post 651 sponsored a ceremony at Sparrow Park in downtown Sayville. The Lieutenant Michael Murphy Sea Cadets were present for the event, along with the Sayville Fire Department.
Wreaths from various community organizations were placed on Sparrow Park in front of monuments erected for veterans killed in combat in World War II, Korea, and Vietnam.
