Q&A

What will you miss about CM? “I will miss the close-knit community at CMHS, where everyone knows and takes care of each other. The friendships that I have formed with students and teachers, especially through the rigorous IB program, have really shaped who I am today.”

What advice do you have for your peers? “My advice for peers is to seize challenges, even when they seem difficult—like the IB program. It is hard, but it is worthwhile. Stay grounded, rely on your support system, and don’t forget to have fun along the way.”

Giuliana Versacci, Salutatorian

GPA: 103.64

Versacci is president of both the Foreign Language Honor Society and the Future Teachers Club, and serves as vice president of the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. She is a student leader for the nonprofit organization One Love, and is also an accomplished athlete as a member of the varsity lacrosse and volleyball teams. In 2024, she received an all-county academic volleyball award.

Q&A

What will you miss about CM? “The things I will miss the most about Center Moriches Schools are the inclusive, fun environment and the dedicated staff. Center Moriches provides multiple opportunities to get involved and participate in things within the school and the community, which is something I advise everybody to take advantage of. The staff at Center Moriches is one of the biggest things I will miss. Everybody is so helpful and committed to helping every student succeed.”

What advice do you have for your peers? “I advise my peers to enjoy high school and participate in as many events and activities as possible, while also doing your work and studying hard. Finding that balance can be difficult, but will only help you in the future.”

THOUGHTS FROM THE DISTRICT

Both Troy and Giuliana are also International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Program candidates. However, neither has finalized their college plans for the fall.

“Throughout their time in the Center Moriches School District, Troy and Giuliana have proven themselves as dedicated, hardworking students,” said superintendent of schools Dr. Ricardo Soto. “This accomplishment is well deserved, and all of us in the community are excited to see them become successful leaders in the future.”
