Despite the foggy weather at the morning pep rally, the East Islip community came together to show district pride during their homecoming game on Oct. 8.
The event kicked off with a parade featuring all of the class years, as well as cheerleaders, band members and younger athletes.
When it was time to get down to business, the Redmen did just that, showcasing their explosive offense helmed by quarterback Derek Burrell. Burrell completed six of eight passes for 101 yards and a touchdown, and ran for 65 yards and two touchdowns. The Redmen were able to keep the Colts scoreless for the first three quarters and scored 21 points in the second quarter alone.
East Islip is currently undefeated at 5-0. They will face a test this upcoming weekend when they will match up against the also undefeated Sayville at 2 p.m. on Oct. 16.
