The defending New York State Class C champions have been thriving in their 2025 spring campaign. Sayville varsity girls lacrosse have propelled themselves as one of the best teams in Suffolk County Division II with a 10-2 divisional record and an 11-3 overall record (last updated May 12).

Head coach Gary Jensen has done a fantastic job at the helm, coaching much talent looking to defend their title with seniors Lucy Livingston, Jenna Messina, Abby Galaris, Sofia Cangelosi, Nikki Graziano.

It is a young team with much promise for the present and future, with juniors Olivia DeSimone, Julianna Montalto, Morgan Farrell along with sophomores Dylan McNamara, Grace Jabour, Leah Babcock, freshman Sienna Lahman and goalkeeper Julia Lilienthal. In late March, the Golden Flashes christened the season downing Harborfields 12-5, then fell to Smithtown West, 12-10.

Sayville beat the West Islip Lions by six points, shellacked the Miller Place Panthers by 10, edged Penfield by a point 11-10, devoured the Sharks dominating Eastport-South Manor 13-6, vanquished Rocky Point and Westhampton Beach both by a 12-8 score, then thumped the Islip Buccaneers, 14-1.

Sayville fell to Dairen in a non-league game in late April, then dominated Comsewogue 15-8 on April 30.

Bayport-Blue Point beat Sayville by a sliver, 11-10; then they whipped Babylon, 18-2, last Tuesday, May 6, and withstood Mount Sinai, 12-8, on Friday, May 9 at home. They faced East Islip on Tuesday and will play Shoreham-Wading River tonight at 5 p.m. for the regular-season finale.
