On Saturday, April 27, The Greater Sayville Chamber of Commerce held their annual Springfest.
Originally scheduled earlier this year in March, the event was moved to April following heavy rains.
The petting zoo and pony ride proved to be the most popular attractions for children, who met both farm and exotic animals.
“The children had so many free activities to choose from!” said event coordinator and president emeritus of the chamber, Eileen Tyznar.
A potting shed hosted small clay flowerpots for children to paint and take home a spring pansy plant of their own.
A scavenger hunt with prizes was mapped out from store to store to help people discover new businesses and shops.
“The store owners pulled out all their wares to the closed street for spring sales, with live entertainment throughout the whole festival! This spring festival is not only awakening of sorts for the weather, but also for all of our downtown businesses to kick off the warm-weather season ahead!” said Tyznar.
