The Brand kids—Amber, Heather, Morgan, and Chelsea of Patchogue—enjoyed their snow day as did Patchogue resident Jaqueline Routh and her son, Benjamin.
The weather forecast predicted more than 5 inches of snow across the South Shore and up to inches along the North Shore of Brookhaven Town. Supervisor Daniel J. Panico urged residents to take “common-sense” precautions to ensure their safety during this and future snow events, including staying off the roads, clearing fire hydrants, removing ice and snow from steps, keeping phones charged, having a battery-operated radio and flashlights ready, dressing warm, and avoiding over-exertion while shoveling. If you must drive, check tires are properly inflated and windshield wipers working; keep pets indoors; check on elderly and infirmed; listen to the local radio/TV; and use a generator outdoors following safety precautions. Please go to the town’s website at www.brookhavenny.gov for up-to-date snow-related news, information, weather updates and emergency contact numbers.
