St. John’s Church in Blue Point celebrated Orthodox Easter, Holy Week and the Anastasi (the “rising / resurrection” midnight service that takes place Saturday night into Sunday.) The event was filled with beautiful liturgical services and spiritual meaning. Joining the St. John’s community and its priest Fr. Dean Panagos on Saturday evening from other local churches and faiths were Rev. Bill Hanson from St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Bellport; Rev. Lilo Carr Rivera, assistant rector at St. Ann’s Episcopal in Sayville; and Rev. James Reiss, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Patchogue.
