Man shot in Mastic Beach, police seeking suspect

Suffolk County police are looking for the individual who allegedly shot a man in Mastic Beach Monday evening.

On May 10 at approximately 6:15 p.m., police said Alejandro Gawey was standing in the parking lot in front of 351 Neighborhood Road when another man shot him in the leg.

Gawey, 22, of Mastic Beach, was transported via ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said the suspect fled the scene following the shooting. Police did not immediately release identifying characteristics of the suspect.
