The Long Island Game Farm – Wildlife Park & Children’s Zoo is thrilled to announce the birth of five adorable capybara pups, born in the early morning hours of Nov. 8.
Proud parents, Lily and Dilly, are attentive to their new litter, who are already exploring their habitat under the watchful eyes of their mom. Capybaras, the world’s largest rodents, are known for their gentle and social nature, and the new pups are expected to be a major highlight for visitors.
“The birth of these five pups is an exciting and heartwarming event for the entire Long Island Game Farm family and the Long Island community,” said Melinda Novak, president, Long Island Game Farm. “Lily and Dilly are wonderful parents, and the pups are healthy and thriving.
We look forward to introducing these playful youngsters to the public soon. It’s a joy to contribute to the growing capybara population and to offer our guests this incredible opportunity to connect with nature.”
The Long Island Game Farm is dedicated to providing an engaging environment where families can learn about wildlife through education and entertainment. The birth underscores the Game Farm’s commitment to animal welfare and conservation education.
Visitors are encouraged to follow the Long Island Game Farm’s social media channels and website for updates on when the new capybara pups will be available for viewing in their habitat.
The Game Farm currently offers “Capybara Encounters,” giving guests a chance to get up close and personal with these friendly animals.
