The Bayport-Blue Point School District celebrated the 100th day of school on Thursday, Feb. 9. On the 100th day, each of our elementary schools in the district mark the milestone by inviting schools in the younger grades to participate in various ways, including dressing up to look 100 years old, making decorative T-shirts/posters with 100 items on them, and taking part in math-themed activities around the number 100. “No matter how they celebrate, the day is a joyous reminder of all that has been accomplished so far this school year in a creative and educational way. Celebrating the 100th day of school each year is a time-honored tradition for our elementary schools, which has been taking place for as long as anyone can remember,” said superintendent Timothy Hearney.
