This June, thanks to the many, many community members who participate in our Super Bowl Party Raffle during the month of January, we are extremely happy to be giving out nine scholarships to graduating high school seniors in various schools.
This is the first year that we not only offered a scholarship for community service, but we also offered one based on mental health and wellness, and the response to that was tremendous!
We are very much looking forward to Moriches Field Brewing Company›s Charity Food Contest being held on June 13 from1 to 4 p.m. and benefitting Helping Makes U Happy. If you enjoy cooking and would be willing to tweak one of your recipes to include one of the brewing company’s beers, reach out to Rich and get all the info on how you could potentially be a winner and help raise money for our charity at the same time.
It’s a great event and you can make anything from appetizers through desserts. We have purchased tickets to taste the recipes the last several years and they’re always amazing and delicious!
June is also the month that we start collecting nonperishable breakfast and lunch foods to feed families referred to us who need a little extra help during the summer months; please reach out to us if you’d like to help at 631-848-9008.
Don’t forget on June 14 to visit the Chamber of Commerce’s Spring Fair on Main Street and Keith’s very favorite event, the CMFD’s strawberry shortcake festival.
