Police have identified the human remains belong to Lisa Westford of Mastic Beach.
Westford, who was 51 when she went missing in 2014, was identified by the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner, police said.

Suffolk County detectives are investigating a situation after a human skeleton was found in a marsh area in Mastic Beach on Sunday afternoon.
Reports said that Seventh Precinct officers responded to a 911 call saying a body had been found by a cleaning crew near Washington Drive in Mastic Beach at approximately 1:35 p.m. Officers found the skeletal remains in the marsh.
The area is located in a residential area near Forest Road East close to Riviera Drive.
The remains were taken to the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner for autopsy to determine cause of death and to identify the remains.
