The Historical Society of Islip Hamlet and Islip Public Library will host an evening with Gerald Dickens on Nov. 19 from 7 to 9 p.m. If the name Dickens sounds familiar if you know the works of Charles Dickens, that’s because Gerald is the great-great-grandson of the famous author. Gerald Dickens puts on a one-man show with the holiday classic, “A Christmas Carol,” at the Islip Public Library.
Light refreshments will be served at the event. It is free of charge, though registration is required as seats fill up fast for this event. Those who are interested in experiencing the works of Charles Dickens told through his great-great-grandson can register through the Islip Public Library at 631-581-5933.
