Long Ireland Pipes and Drums opened the ceremony with a traditional bagpipe tribute.

Kiera Ballan, a junior at Bellport High School, sang “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
The event began with daylight at 7 a.m., but went into the evening.
First responders lined up in Bellport Marina and marched into Osborn Park in remembrance of their fallen friends and colleagues. During the event, the men and women remained standing.

On the evening of the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, Bellport residents, dignitaries, and first responders gathered at Osborn Park. Together, they paid tribute to the lives lost, and the lives forever changed.
