Bay Shore relaunches Restaurant Committee

The Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce announced on March 1 its relaunch of the Bay Shore Restaurant Committee. Its goal is to strengthen and help promote the dining industry in Bay Shore by working together with restaurant owners, managers, and food industry professionals. The committee will assist in increasing business to Bay Shore’s dining scene.

The BSRC’s chairperson is Mike Ryan, who is also the vice president of the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Some of the key initiatives for the relaunch are advocacy and support, economic growth, marketing and promotion, and networking and collaboration. As the dining scene in Bay Shore increases, the committee seeks to help all involved in the restaurant industry.

“We are excited to relaunch this committee as a powerful tool for our restaurant community,” president of the Greater Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce Eddie Fraser said. “Now more than ever, it’s essential for restaurant owners to come together to ensure the long-term success and sustainability of Bay Shore’s thriving food scene.”

A focus will be placed on events to attract locals and visitors to Main Street. Members will be able to voice their concerns and challenges by connecting with other restaurant owners and industry professionals to collaborate and strengthen the hospitality community, as well as ways to increase tourism to Bay Shore’s dining destination, such as increasing foot traffic.

Those who join can look forward to being promoted by the Bay Shore Chamber of Commerce, have access to resources such as workshops and guest speakers, build relationships with other businesses and support one another, and have a say in decisions that have an impact on the Bay Shore dining experience.

Sponsors of the Bay Shore Restaurant Committee include South Shore University Hospital, the Boulton Center and Fire Island Ferries. Some businesses already part of the committee include Napper Tandy’s, Tap Room, The Pizzeria and Pecado Mexican. Restaurant, coffee shop, bar managers, and other food industry workers are welcome to join the committee.

“The ultimate goal of the BSRC is to bring all the restaurants, bars, and pubs together to work as one,” Ryan said. “We need to work together to keep this downtown exciting and a premier destination on Long Island. By fostering a spirit of unity and collaboration, we aim to enhance the dining experience for both locals and visitors, ensuring Bay Shore remains a vibrant and attractive destination.”

Anyone in the Bay Shore food industry who is interested in joining the committee, can reach out to bayshorerestaurants@gmail.com or head to www.bayshoreeats.com for additional information.
