Angels host weekend for health care workers

Posted

This Memorial Day weekend, the Angels of Long Island will be inviting all health care workers down to their East Patchogue location for a barbecue with free scrubs and PPE.

The three-day event, starting Thursday, May 27 through Saturday, May 29, will also feature a tent sale. All are welcome. Items on sale include furniture and so much more, with all the proceeds going towards continuing their efforts. During this time, Brookhaven Pharmacy will also be on hand for anyone interested in receiving the Johnson & Johnson or Moderna vaccine.

“Now that we are opening back up, I just wanted to acknowledge all the frontline workers in the health care industry,” said co-founder Debbie Loesch. “It’s our way of giving back and saying thank you.”

The organization will be giving out thousands of brand-new scrubs. The barbecue will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., sponsored by Rudy’s Bar and Grill.

Established in 2015, Angels of Long Island was started by Loesch and her daughter Brittany as a small Facebook group and now has thousands of members across Long Island.
