If you want some ring a ding ding this New Year’s Eve, you’re in luck. The Gateway is live streaming “The Rat Pack Is Back” from Las Vegas, with Chris Jason as Frank Sinatra, Kyle Diamond as Sammy Davis Jr. and Drew Anthony as Dean Martin via two shows, 7 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. at The Gateway’s Drive In Theater.

Get your tickets now for a fun night. It’s limited to 50 cars per performance.

“They’re currently playing the show at The Tuscany Suites & Casino,” explained The Gateway’s executive artistic director Paul Allan, of the trio. “They were off on New Year’s Eve, so the cast is coming together just for us.”

“The Rat Pack Is Back” has been an enduring non-stop hit for The Gateway, an
hommage to Frank Sinatra’s act at The Sands Hotel with his pals Dean Martin and Sammy Davis Jr. as they sang, danced and joked in the Copa Room in the early 1960’s.

It’s the same cast that starred at Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts in 2018.

“This is a safe way to go out on New Year’s Eve,” Allan said. “The 10:30 p.m. show will end just before midnight and we’ll switch over to Times Square for the ball drop. The earlier show will switch over to the New Year’s Eve celebration in Madagascar when it occurs at 8 p.m. our time.”

There was a lot of technology involved but The Gateway crew figured it out.

“It will be shot with two cameras in Vegas and we’ll use a broadcast signal,” Allan said. “The performances will be customized, and there will be some call outs. We might have some interaction.”

Patrons get a bottle of Martinelli Cider, bottle opener included, two glasses, hats and noise makers.

The price is $49 per person.

“This all came together on Friday,” Allan said. “The original idea was to get them out here and put up a portable stage, but it got too complicated with the Covid restrictions. So we said, `let’s have them do it from Las Vegas.’”
