1000 Backpacks Donated to School Age Children during the “Stay in School Rally”


Islip Town Councilwoman, Trish Bergin, along with NAACP Islip Town Branch members and the Suffolk PAL, distribute 1000 backpacks, filled with essential school supplies.  The drive-thru event took place at the Central Islip Community Park on Saturday, August 21.  School age students, accompanied by their parents, drove through the event and received much needed supplies for the upcoming school year.  Event sponsors included South Shore University Hospital-Northwell Health, Target, Suffolk Federal Credit Union, PSEG, Suffolk Transportation and Walmart.
