The National Park Service invites you to relax and relieve stress this summer during free yoga classes on the Patchogue River. In partnership with the Friends of Fire Island National Seashore, the NPS will offer five free morning yoga sessions in July and August at the Patchogue Ferry Terminal on West Avenue for beginners and intermediate yoga students.

“We are excited to be able to offer this wonderful program again to the public. Last year, Yoga on the River was a great success, and engaged the community in a fun and healthy way,” said instructor Rachel Kladias, who also offers free yoga classes at the Patchogue-Medford Carnegie Library every Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8:15 a.m. Kladias is a 200HR-RYT Yoga Alliance certified instructor who began practicing in 2000.

The following free yoga sessions will be offered in July and August at Watch Hill Ferry Terminal:

Wednesday, July 10, 7-8:15 a.m.

Wednesday, July 17, 7-8:15 a.m.

Wednesday, July 24, 7-8:15 a.m.

Wednesday, July 31, 7-8:15 a.m.

Wednesday,  Aug. 7, 7-8:15 a.m.

Participants are encouraged to bring water, sunblock and a yoga mat. Registration is not required. Classes will be held outdoors and will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.
