Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts announced a new marketing and public relations director.

Jodi Giambrone started Monday. She is The Gateway’s former marketing and public relations director and replaces Bernie Fabig, who left in October for a position as Marketing & Public Relations Manager at A Noise Within in Pasadena, California, a mainstay repertory theater with an educational component that showcases classic plays, plus readings and symposiums.

Giambrone worked at The Gateway for three years and at Westhampton Beach Performing Arts Center before that for 10 years.

“I found out I got the job right before Christmas,” Giambrone said. As for her thoughts on what she’d like to do, “I really want to increase their digital exposure,” she said. “I have a great company that does Google display ads but I haven’t really sunk my teeth into what [PTPA is] lacking. And even though I’m not doing development, I want to increase their exposure for donations and position them as a worthy nonprofit for contributions.”

“Considering up until four years ago we never had a full-time marketing person, we realized how important that was when we didn’t have one so we’re happy she’s getting started,” said PTPA board chairman Christopher Capobianco.

PTPA executive director Gary Hygom said 25 candidates applied. “When Jody applied we said, ‘she’s the one.’ It was a pretty easy decision,” Hygom said.
