The American Chinese United Care (ACUC) Alliance is a recently-launched grassroots coalition of more than 150 Chinese American and Overseas Chinese organizations throughout the Tri-State Area. Our members include charitable entities, businesses, alumni associations, other Chinese cultural, religious, and professional groups and individuals, all committed to helping our local communities in the fight against this once-in-a-lifetime pandemic.
The ACUC Alliance participants have raised $ 5.8 million in cash or in-kind PPE donations since March. The alliance recently donated 11,000 pieces of PPE to the Village of Patchogue to help support the relief efforts of the Greater Patchogue COAD (Community Organizations Active in Disaster, a part of the non-profit Greater Patchogue Foundation, as well as a donation to Long Island Community Hospital in East Patchogue and the Medford Multicare Assisted Living. “Long Island has one of the highest concentrations of Covid-19 cases in the nation and this PPE donation to Long Island Community Hospital will certainly help save lives. I thank the American Chinese United Care Alliance for their generous donation to help keep our residents safe during the pandemic,” said Mayor Paul Pontieri thankful for the contribution.
